Fireball Winter Warmer Collection

Recently, we wrote about cooking with Fireball. And at that point, we thought that there was nothing better to warm you up on a cold winters afternoon than a home cooked meal beside a warm fire. Now, we aren’t so sure. We happen to think that the winter warmer food collection might have some competition from the winter warmer drinks collection.

It has always been tradition to drink warm beverages in the coldest places on earth. It is also often common practice to put whiskey or brandy in these drinks. These kinds of spirits can give you a fantastic warming sensation.

A hip flask of whiskey on the slopes never hurt, but we want to be slightly more sophisticated.

The list of warm drink that you can add alcohol to is extensive. Mulled Wine, Irish Coffee and Caffe Correcto (Sambuca in coffee) are just a few examples. Looking at the taste profile of Fireball, it is the cinnamon flavour you will want to compliment. Luckily this goes well with a lot of other flavours including coffee, wine and chocolate. If we take all of these factors into consideration we can work out what is the most warming on a cold day.

We tested out some drink ideas on unsuspecting people around Fireball HQ. We started with tea, but the tea sucked so much so we moved on. Coffee seemed a much better idea. Then we remembered that only this morning one of the pretty ladies that sits in the corner had been complaining that nobody would make her a hot chocolate… genius! So we have come up with two ideas, but we wanted a third to complete our winter warmers collection. We moved to the colouring-in department (marketing) where one of the designers mentioned that eggnog was quite a popular winter drink. Sure enough it goes amazingly with Fireball.

So here are our recipes:

Hot Chocolate

To make an extra special hot chocolate we pulled out all the stops, we stuffed it with everything we could find in the cupboard and fridge. Whoever told you could make hot chocolate with hot water is an idiot, so first we crossed that instruction off the back of every packet we could find. It’s a shame we can’t do more about this distressing rumour. (It sits in the same category as eggs in the microwave and bacon in the toaster!) Basically, we are using hot milk and so should you.

Use two spoons of hot chocolate powder, and fill halfway with hot milk. Stuff the rest of the mug with marshmallows. Then, pour 25ml Fireball over the top. Squirt cream everywhere (mostly at the mug).

Fireball Coffee

Perk your boss up in the morning (not for bus drivers).

  • Coffee
  • Hot Milk
  • 1 Sugar
  • 25ml Fireball

Firenog

An adaptation of classic eggnog, and by adaptation, we mean we added Fireball.

  • 3 organic eggs
  • 80ml sugar
  • 240ml half and half
  • 120ml cream
  • 25ml Fireball

Make sure the eggs are room temperature and whisk them until light and fluffy. Heat the rest of the ingredient in a pan until steaming and bubbling slightly at the edges. Add it all together and whisk it again. Once completely mixed, add the shot of Fireball and stir slowly. Then, ladle into cups and sprinkle cinnamon into the shape of the Fireball Demon on the top.
